Have you ever tried to start your car only to discover the battery is dead? It's a real hassle and can cost you a great deal of lost time. We'd like to help our Wellesley customers avoid this problem by sharing some tips for testing your battery at home. Give these suggestions a try.

You should first perform a load test. Just turn your headlights to the on position, then start your car. Let it run for about 15 minutes. The next step is to start your engine and watch what happens to your lights. If they dim, this lets you know your battery is lacking power and should probably be replaced.

Another simple indicator is to listen for a clicking noise when you start the vehicle. If it clicks a few times, this is a pretty clear sign you need a new battery. Just one click might mean your starter is bad.
